On August 21, 2007, Representatives of R&R Construction Inc. attended ribbon-cutting ceremonies at PPG Industries Lake Charles, LA manufacturing complex along with company executives, local dignitaries and elected officials. The purpose of the ceremony was to celebrate PPG's 6oth Anniversary in Lake Charles and to dedicate a new Membrane Cell Unit representing a $100 Million investment by PPG. R&R was a key contractor in the construction of the unit from the ground up, and in assembly of 1,300 chlorine cell elements. The construction involving 250 workers and more than 450,000 work hours, was finished on-time, on budget and with no OSHA recordable injuries. More than 50,000 feet of pipe and 500 tie-ins were put in place in addition to the assembly of the 1,300 cell elements in which R&R played a key role. R&R now stands as one of a handful of contractors with experience in construction and assembly of this cutting-edge technology.
